Training
We highly recommend a basic obedience class, it helps you the owner bond with your new puppy. Training your dog will develop a mutual feeling of respect and trust between you and him/her. Your new addition will be welcome in the neighborhood, at soccer games and at family gatherings. Remember to be patient and consistent with your training. Don't over do when training a young dog as their attention span is short. Learn to recognize signs of distraction or boredom in our young dog so your can make changes or stop the activity. Training sessions will get longer as the pup gets older. You and your family need to set up the ground rules for the house, the car, etc BEFORE your new pup arrives and STICK to them!!
If you plan on hunting your dog basic obedience training is a must. Find a good class in your area, we recommend that you and your dog pass the Canine Good Citizen Test.
