Going Home

Before going home you, the new owner needs to get prepared for the new arrival

Here are a few suggestions to think about:

Your young dog needs:

    Patience

Consistency-have a family meeting prior to taking your new puppy home to

Determine 'the rules" for BOTH owners and the new addition

Proper diet and water at all times

Regular checkups and vaccinations by your vet

Patience

Consistency

Clean housing with lots of room

Daily exercise--labs are active...a walk around the block doesn't do it!

Regular grooming ( nails, teeth,  and coat)

Patience

Consistency

Companionship ( labs LOVE humans)

Early training

Training starts immediately upon your pup’s arrival

Crate training-for safe travel and if needed, over night stays at the vet

use wisely and NEVER use the crate as punishment!

Socialization-start immediately after arrival to teach good manners and

acceptable behaviors.  A socialized dog has confidence!

                Patience and consistency

OBEDIENCE CLASS-Helps you and the new puppy bond......think CGC!!
